The Ward Fall Festival: Maiya was the first of the Twelve Dancing Princesses. The "Pink One" to be more specific. She wore a crown and her pink dress and pink princess slippers. We almost had a break down because her dress was a "Barbie" dress and the shoes were "Disney's Sleeping Beauty." This was not OK because they didn't "match". How did I get such a fashion conscience 4 year old?
We did not put Hailey in costume for the Fall Festival. She did go in a festive outfit complete with Halloween bow (thank you, Aunt Gayle). Todd was a judge at the Fall Festival for the costumes, pumpkin carving, cake decorating and chili cook-off. Mysteriously Todd's chili came in 3rd place.....hmmmmm.
School Costume on Halloween: Maiya dressed up as Tinkerbell (or Stinkerbell as Todd likes to call her) for school costume day. First United Methodist Church (FUMC) where Maiya attends Pre-K does a great day of festivities for the children. They Trick-or-Treat from classroom to classroom. They carved pumpkins and told "scary" stories. Maiya had a lot of fun. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of Maiya as Tinkerbell because we thought she would be the same thing that evening but it was not meant to be.
Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating: Maiya decided at the last minute to be Ci
nderella for the evening festivities. And at the very last minute we decided to put Hailey in costume as a bunny rabbit. The weather in Florida had dipped into the 60's on Halloween night so we decided to re-use Maiya's 1st Halloween costume for Hailey. It would keep her warm during the Trick-or-Treating portion of the night. She was too cute all bundled up in that thing. Maiya, Hailey, Dad and our backyard neighbors hea
ded out at 7 pm. Mom stayed home to pass out candy. After about 30 minutes Maiya told Todd she thought she had enough candy (she had collected about 15 pieces) and was ready to go home. Todd told her they could stay out and get more. She said no. She had enough. They came home and Maiya promptly put on her PJs and settled in to watch her new Tinkerbell Movie. When it was over she went to bed.
