Checking Off Another Ride

So...as I had earlier posted, Maiya has reached a new height and we have reached a new year. The combination of the two equals Maiya trying out a whole lot of Disney rides for the first time. The most recent achievement was Mission Space at Epcot. This ride has a bit of a reputation. Several (more than two) people have died after riding this ride....all of them had heart conditions though. Basically this ride is a gi-normous centrifuge (Webster defines as "an apparatus that rotates at high speed and by centrifugal force seperates substances of different densities) that spins to create a G-force of about 3G against your body. You are in a "simulator" creating the appearance that you are in the Space Shuttle on a mission to Mars. It is because of the degree of G-force that people have died.

Anyway....Maiya was once again a trooper and went on the ride with me (Todd stayed behind with Hailey as he does not handle simulator rides well at all!!) We had a bit of a wait but enjoyed reading about the Space Program and the shuttle while we stood in line.

After we got off Maiya was proud of herself and said she would do it again in the future.

Way to go, Miss Maiya
